A new joint venture company “Gooring Jimbila Contracting” for East Kimberley traditional owner group Gelganyem has celebrated its first win with a $12.5 million contract with Rio Tinto’s Argyle mine.

Doorn-Djil Yoordaning Mining and Construction represents a new era in Aboriginal contracting.

The business delivers a competitive, high-quality service for bluechip clients in the resource and infrastructure sectors while building a culturally-sensitive workplace that maximises opportunity for Aboriginal workers, their families and communities.

Our goal is to win long-term contracts that deliver sustained value, encouraging partnerships with local indigenous businesses and communities to enhance regional skills, employment and prosperity.

Operating from headquarters in Perth, with offices in Newman and Kununurra, Doorn-Djil's success is underpinned by the expertise and financial strength of Macmahon Holdings – one of Australia's largest civil construction and mining groups.

Established in 2008, Doorn-Djil draws on the experience of Macmahon which has successfully partnered with Aboriginal communities around Australia for more than 40 years.
